As an 8(a) HUBZone company  we offer a unique technology-based Cloud Apprentice program. Simple Technology Solutions (STS) was the 1st DC approved IT Apprenticeship program.  STS provides the tools you need to learn in-demand skills, launch a new career, and discover a brighter future.

Program Details

The goal of the Simple Technology Solutions Apprenticeship program is two-fold, create a challenging and rewarding career for you while creating a pool of qualified personnel to staff our federal contract positions.

  • You will receive education and training to launch your cloud computing career.
  • You will have access to an amazing array of training and certification courses from industry leaders to include Amazon AWS, Microsoft, Google and more.
  • Earn while you learn, monthly income is available to DC residents throughout the duration of the learning period of the apprenticeship program.
  • You will complete an established online 12-week curriculum that will prepare you for a variety of certifications in cloud computing.
  • You must be willing to commit to completing 10 hours per week / 40 hours per month of coursework.
  • You must be self-motivated and prepared to learn in a virtual environment.
  • You will be connected to mentors and peers to help guide you on your path to a new career.
  • You will have the opportunity to grow with Simple Technology Solutions as we take on new contracting challenges.

The Simple Technology Solutions Apprenticeship Program is building a pathway for eager and motivated professionals to transition into cloud roles and to transform their careers. Apprenticeship is a core component of the company’s mission. Simple Technology Solutions has adopted the position that where we cannot find highly skilled practitioners of our trade, we will grow them. We believe that apprenticeship is a valuable investment in developing our own employee pool, as well as, helping to nurture talented industry professionals. One of the primary goals of our program is to train competent and highly knowledgeable cloud practitioners who are fully prepared to meet the demands of the industry and our customers.

Simple Technology Solutions Three-Pronged Approach


Each apprentice is expected to complete the identified certification path within an established twelve-week timeframe. Apprentices are required to invest a minimum of ten (10) hours per week to complete weekly assignments. Courses are designed to be completed remotely and apprentices participate in weekly individual meetings with the Program Director.

Professional Development & Coaching

Each apprentice is paired with a Simple Technology Solutions mentor to coach them in their professional development.  This is the process where a Simple Technology Solutions mentor interacts with the apprentice in a personalized manner to improve the apprentice’s overall performance and assist him or her in successfully completing the program.

On-The-Job Training

On-the-job training and sometimes called direct instruction is one of the best forms of training. It is one-on-one training located on the job alongside a Simple Technology Solutions mentor. This means that apprentices are taught how to complete the task while they are actually doing the job, instead of being taught prior to being put in a real world scenario.

As Apprentices matriculate through the program, Simple Technology Solutions incorporates in-house professional development seminars, sponsored participation at industry-wide conferences, training and events to create a comprehensive apprentice experience.

Our Curriculum

The Simple Technology Solutions apprenticeship program curriculum is a combination of on-the-job training and related instruction in which workers learn the practical and theoretical aspects of cloud computing. Through our partnerships with Amazon, Microsoft, and Google, Simple Technology Solutions apprentice program participants gain access to invaluable resources and the opportunity to earn certifications from our partners.

The apprenticeship program is just the beginning. Once enrolled in the program, Simple Technology Solutions seeks to welcome each apprentice as part of the organization. Upon the successful completion of all training and earning certifications, Simple Technology Solutions will work to identify employment placement within the organization or one of its’ employment sponsors. As an employee, you will be encouraged to pursue additional training and certifications that will further build and enhance your professional capacity.
